My name is Romena and I'm an announcer here at Radio Metro! I host Friday mornings After Breaky Beats from 9am till 12pm and occasionally I do Tuesday nights, the Radio Metro Flash Back Chart Show.  I’ve been at Radio Metro for almost two years, my first year doing reception work and my second year being an announcer and so far loving every minute of it!

I grew up on the Gold Coast but currently work and live in Brisbane but because I love Radio Metro so much I come back down here once a week to deliver you listeners all the good stuff! Great tracks, the latest news and my personal favourite...loads of celebrity gossip!

I study a dual degree of a Bachelor of Business majoring in advertising and a Bachelor of Creative Industries majoring in Film and Television at QUT in Brisbane.  It’s a fairly random/diverse degree which I hope could lead me to many different career paths. I’ve always been interested in film and television but the advertising part of my degree wouldn’t have happened if during my second week working at Radio Metro, Justin (our General Manager) asked me to have a go at writing a script. This is something which I really enjoyed as I could be as creative and innovative as possible. Radio Metro is where I found my love for advertising and presenting; through the creative scripts I was asked to write and by having my own show. Working at Radio Metro confirmed that the entertainment industry is where I want my future to be headed. This is why Radio Metro Rocks!

Now for something that is not to so career based, my hobbies/things I love doing. I love reading, going to the gym, listening to radio metro (electro dance in particular), eating bananas, staying healthy, indie films, spending time with my loved ones, I love learning new things, going to new places, traveling, being creative, being called crazy and spontaneous, being half Egyptian/half Dutch, having a huge family, road trips... all the good stuff! I’m a person who’s up for anything and everything so if you see me somewhere and you think I look cool come and say hello! I’m also friendly!
