The Animal Welfare League of Qld cares for 10,000 stray and abandoned animals each year and receives no state or federal government funding for welfare work, making donations from the community vital for the continued care of these animals.
2009 marks the 50th year of not only improving, but more importantly saving, the lives of companion animals in Queensland while also progressing toward the goal of achieving zero euthanasia of healthy and sociable cats and dogs – a goal in which the AWL are happy to say has been achieved for the Gold Coast City since the beginning of May 2009.
