Beat Me Feature
This allows Radio Metro listeners to find out what the title of the track is and who the artist is as the song is playing. All you do is text the keyword “beat me” to 199 DANCE (Every SMS sent costs 55c.) as the song is playing, and the artist name and the name of the track will be text back to your phone. This service is not available during specialty shows or Live Broadcasts.
(Please note that normal delays in broadcast time when using the listen online feature may cause the discrepencies when using the beatme service)
Competitions
This feature allows the listener to enter competitions via SMS. The announcer will promote the competition and the prize up for grabs followed by the keywords that must be text to 199 DANCE to win the prize (Every SMS sent costs 55c.). The winner will be notified by SMS that they have won and will be asked to show the SMS message at Radio Metro’s reception to collect their prize. This must be done within 7 days of winning. Those listeners that are not successful in winning will again be notified by SMS that they did not win.
You must bring your Radio Metro Access Card and photo ID to collect any prizes which are for ‘Access Card’ holder only competitions. Radio Metro do not take responsibility for any lost of stolen Access Cards, and we do not offer free replacements. One phone to be used per person/per prize, eg: you may not use multiple phones to win multiples of the same prize.
Liveline Feature
The Liveline Feature allows the listeners to interact with the DJ in real time. You simply text the word ‘DJ’ followed by a space then your message to whoever is on air (Every SMS sent costs 55c.). Your SMS message will then appear on a screen in the Radio Metro studios which will be read by the DJ. This message can be anything you like, from shout outs to track voting, requests to what you like or dislike about Radio Metro. Every Liveline message sent correctly is replied to with a message saying “Thank you, the DJ is now reading your SMS.’
